Workforce Development.
This initiative connects houseless neighbors with local job and training opportunities at a dignified wage. Our neighbors experiencing houselessness are often highly skilled, so we provide the support, opportunity, and training necessary to get them back to meaningful work.
Currently, we provide City Beautification services for the City and County and Property Stewardship and Development services for local businesses. Both of these initiatives are managed and performed primarily by neighbors who are formerly or currently houseless. At present, we have over nine formerly or currently houseless staff on our Workforce team.
-
Property Stewardship and Development
This team provides construction, repair, landscaping, and other contracted services for homes, local businesses, organizations, and municipalities.
-
Community Beautification
This team provides garbage clean-up and graffiti removal services throughout East Portland and East Multnomah County. We only pick up trash where no one is currently living or with the approval of the people living there.
