Let’s talk about
Community Beautification

Dear Friends,

Driving through our neighborhoods, we all see the need for more garbage services on a daily basis. Our Community Beautification team provides a broad-benefit service of compassionate garbage removal throughout East Portland and East Multnomah County. We work alongside both housed and unhoused neighbors to ensure dignity, livability, & safety for all.

How we do it

Our Community Beautification team mobilizes our fleet of trucks and trailers five days per week - visiting our public areas, schools, parks, or anywhere else that needs beautification!

Staffed by graduates of our Intern Program, they provide compassionate garbage removal for and with our unhoused neighbors, working alongside camps and individuals to ensure a sense of dignity, cleanliness, and safety.

We strive to do nothing alone - that’s why you’ll often find us working alongside volunteers from SOLVE, West Columbia Gorge Rotary Club, Ink:Built, Mill Park/Hazelwood Neighborhood Associations, and more.

What’s the impact?

Supportive employment re-entry for our neighbors experiencing houselessness!

“This job has saved me in a lot of ways. Everyone on the team and in the program - we really appreciate the job. It’s fast-paced, I’m working hard, and best of all I get to mentor people.”

Ron, Community Beautification Lead

Clean and safe neighborhoods for all neighbors - over 1 million lbs of garbage
was removed in the last year!

“We always have people telling us to thank you, honking their horns, and a lot of the people at the camps we help clean will ask if we have more trash bags and start helping us clean.”

Neptali, Community Beautification Lead

Thank you to our community of supporters and the Joint Office of Homeless Services for the generosity that makes these impacts possible!
