Neighbors Helping Neighbors!

Do you ever ask yourself how you could be part of empowering our unhoused neighbors? This September, we hosted six East Multnomah County churches for an outstanding volunteer event that they named “God’s Work, Our Hands.” They worked on a variety of tasks including preparing sandwiches, first aid & hygiene kits, picking up litter with our Community Beautification team, and writing welcome cards for neighbors moving into shelter or housing.

Volunteers coming together in this way is incredibly beneficial to help sustain the work we do and the relationships we foster, as we provide over 45 lunches weekly in our Intern Program alone. Many thanks to Resurrection Lutheran Church, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and St. Timothy Lutheran Church for serving in this way!

We love working alongside the community! If you have a group interested in supporting our food and resource preparation for neighbors and interns, please click below.

Round up for Change in October

We are happy to announce a fun partnership as many people start planning their holiday shopping!

Cultivate Initiatives is being supported by the Clackamas Town Center Macy’s from October 16th - 31st. Throughout these two weeks, customers shopping at the Clackamas Town Center locations can round-up their in-store purchase amount and donate the extra change to Cultivate Initiatives.

We are so grateful to be a part of Macy’s efforts as they support nonprofits to create a brighter future with bold representation for all.

Pie Day Friday!

At the end of September, our team celebrated our second annual Pie Day Friday! We held a pie-eating contest, a pie-baking contest, and played some pie-related games. Pie Day Friday is one of the ways we aim to create a vibrant and engaging environment, allowing for decompression and celebration amongst team members. And of course, who doesn’t want to pie their directors in the face from time to time?

  • Pie Eating Contest Winner - Caleb, Executive Director

  • Most Delicious Pie - Dana, Beautification Host

  • Most Creative Pie - Dan, Beautification Team Member

  • Most Beautiful Pie - Paul, Community Member & Former Director
